who killed cock robin?

when i was a kid, there wasn't cable at my house. there wasn't even the fucking option to have cable in fact... just cbc, ctv, global and ckvr. that's it. and most of the time it was rather slim pickin's in terms of childrens programming when tvo wouldn't come in on the antennae.... which was something that could be turned into another direction based on north, south, east and west... each one a better bet for getting a specific channel in. the box would whirr and eventually it would wind up in the right direction... although no solid guarentee that it would actually get the channel you wanted.

to work around this i had a stack of vhs tapes that had gradually become full of disney specials, danger bay and a LOT of The Raccoons. The Disney specials were often well off the beaten track and veered into the old stuff that would get played at odd hours. many of them i vividly remember but one that totally stands out was "Who Killed Cock Robin?" I just happened to look for it tonight and turns out someone juuuuuuuust posted it at the begining of August. when i thought about the short when i was older i was stunned at the imagery in it, but hey, this was probably tame by 1935 standards. sheesh... disagree with it or not, it's a crassic cartoon that's interesting in so much as it's a clear memory for me when normally it's a nice fuzzy patch that doesn't get lively until i was a teenager.
